Meet the Community Bridge Advocacy Founder and Autism Advocate
The Vision Behind the Bridge: Community Bridge Advocacy Founder
Community Bridge Advocacy was created from a journey that is deeply personal to me. As the mother of two adult daughters with autism, I have spent more than 23 years learning, advocating, navigating systems, attending meetings, searching for resources, and helping ensure my children had the support and opportunities they needed to succeed.
Â
I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate autism evaluations, IEPs, accommodations, education, transition planning, and the move into adulthood. I also understand what it feels like to sit at a table with professionals, trying to understand complicated information while making important decisions for someone you love.
Â
Those experiences are at the heart of why I founded Community Bridge Advocacy.
Â
Combined with my professional and educational background, my 23 years of lived advocacy experience allow me to bring both knowledge and personal understanding to the families I serve. My goal is to help bridge the gaps between families, schools, service providers, and community resources so that individuals with autism and their families feel informed, prepared, supported, and heard.
Â
I believe every individual deserves the opportunity to build a meaningful future based on their own strengths, needs, and goals. Whether a family is navigating an autism evaluation, preparing for an IEP or 504 meeting, transitioning into college or employment, or searching for adult and community resources, I am here to help make the path forward clearer.
Â
I created Community Bridge Advocacy because I have walked this journey as a mother and advocate. Now, I want to use what I have learned over the past 23 years to help other families find their voice, understand their options, and navigate their own journey with greater confidence.
